Runescape Music Player Settings

Posted by: admin    in Runescape Help, Runescape Tips

Runescape Music
When Runescape Classic was running there was no music for the F2P, but some music for the members. This has been improved on in Runescape 2, the current version as each time you enter a location you will hear a different piece of music which is especially for that place. If you haven’t heard that particular sound before then congratulations, you have just unlocked it in your Runescape music players.

When you unlock any song it is added automatically to your Runescape music player for you to play as many times as you want at a later date, no matter where you are in the world of Runescape. Of course, members do get extra songs than free players because they can travel to more cities or dungeons and unlock that place’s tune.

You can see a screenshot of the music player to the right. If a tune has been unlocked then its text colour will be green, if not then it stays red.

Runescape Music Player Settings
When the ‘AUTO’ button is selected this means that the tune will play automatically. When the ‘AUTO’ button is selected a type of music, depending on where you are will play only once. If you move into a different area then the tune that you were listening to changes and again will only play once.

When the ‘MAN’ button is selected it means that you must manually select a tune to play yourself, no song will play automatically. When the ‘MAN’ button is selected you can choose whichever song you want to play by clicking on the name. Songs will not change when you move into a new area.

Runescape Sound Effects
Jagex have also added sound effects. Depending on where you are you will hear different sounds. For example, when you are walking through a bit of country you may hear the birds singing or when you are mining you may hear your pick axe hitting the rock. The difference  between the area player tunes and the sound effects are that area tunes play when you move into a certain area and the sound effects play when you are carrying out an action or passing animals, etc.

There is also another set of controls that you can use to change the volume or turn certain effects off. You can see to the left:

The more you move a slider to the right, the louder the effect is. If you move a slider completely to the left then you can mute the sounds completely. As you can see in the options above, all of the sound effects have been muted. The first music slider (second row) allows you to change the volume of the song from the music player. The second music slider (third row) allows you to change the sound effects volume and the third music slider (fourth row) allows you to adjust the volume for areas.

Runescape Mp3 Downloads
Over at Sals Realm of Runescape there is a brief section about Runescape Music – you can find it via Google – that gives you some instructions on how you can go about saving the Runescape mp3 files to your computer so you can listen to them while you’re not playing Runescape or to embed them into your Runescape fansite. Enjoy.

What was the Runescape Wilderness

Posted by: admin    in Runescape Discussion & Wiki

Runescape Wilderness
In Runescape many years ago, players went out into a vast land to battle one another and become ever victorious. The Runescape Wilderness we know today is very different from the wilderness of the last six years. Here is a brief overview of what arguably used to be the most exciting part of Runescape used to be like:

What was the Runescape Wilderness
The Runescape Wilderness was a large area in which people could wander upon and fight one another until the end. The Wilderness was considered one of the biggest money makers of all time, with the idea of killing others to gain their items, though it was also considered one of the fastest ways for beginners to lose their fortunes. The wilderness was definitely not for the weak.

Dying With a Skull in the Wilderness
Well, you could attack other people, or you could be attacked, it was as simple as that. The only problem was that you have to be extremely careful in the Wilderness if you did not want to lose your best three items. When you venture into the Wilderness if you want to keep your best three items then I suggest you don’t attack anyone. The best thing to do was wait for someone to attack you. If you or someone else attacks first then a skull will be placed above your head. If you’re losing your battle and have good items, now was the time to panic and run. The skull above the head means that you are a PKer, a Player Killer. The skull would last for around 20 minutes and if you die before then, wave goodbye to all of your items, including your top three, unless you had the protect item prayer on

Where to Start Runescape Pking
There are entrances around Edgeville and East Varrock which can be seen in the image below.

Runescape Classic
Runescape as people know it today is not the first version of the game. Runescape Classic was the very first version of Runescape. Unfortunately, you may not be able to play Runescape Classic as it is no longer available for new players. Runescape Classic has been kept alive purely to support some of the older and very first players of the game.

Difference between Runescape 2 and Runescape Classic
Runescape 2 and Runescape Classic have many differences. The major difference is that Runescape Classic no longer gets updated. Also, the graphics and interfaces are completely different as well as some aspects of game play. The new graphics engine that Runescape 2 uses catered for a much more detailed and three dimensional look, where as Runescape classic, whilst 3D had a very 2D look and lack a lot of detail. In terms of game play one of the biggest differences was the change in the combat system where you were no longer committed to three rounds of combat once combat was initiated like it was in Runescape classic and you earned experience whenever you delivered damage to an opponent rather than just when you defeated the opponent.

The worlds of Runescape 2 and Runescape Classic are similar to one another, apart from the fact that some of the cities and areas have been re-built and have different looks. The names and locations of cities haven’t really changed though some monsters can also be found in different places. NPC’s (Non-Player Characters) may also have new looks. If you know almost all there is to know about Runescape areas and where to find them you should have no trouble playing the Classic version. New skills can be found on Runescape 2, along with armour, quests, items, monsters and many more new features.

Also in Runescape classic the way you went about many skills like mining, fishing, wood cutting etc was slightly different than it is in Runescape 2. Firstly you didn’t equip items to your player in Runescape classic, you just carried them in your inventory, so for example if you wanted to wear armour you’d put the items you wanted to wear in your inventory then equip them but they would stay in your inventory which would take up a space. Now in the early Runescape classic when it come to mining for example you’d have to click you inventory then click your pickaxe then you need to click on the rock you wanted mine at, and you had to do this for each and every swing at the rock whether you gained an ore or not. So mine a load or whatever ore you could be clicking upwards of 200 times. Thankfully in Runescape 2 you only need to click on the rock you wish to mine and you will swing you pickaxe multiple times often getting multiple ores. The same applies with the other skills.

Due to this very high amount of clicking required in Runescape classic many people opted to use autoers to do the boring tasks like fishing, mining, wood cutting etc. This lead to the eventual introduction of fatigue which happened when players did many tasks and items like sleeping bags would refresh players. You don’t see fatigue or sleeping bags these days because in Runescape 2 random events where introduced to counter autoers.

Runescape Classic Levels
You may find when you upgrade you account from Runescape classic to Runescape 2 that your combat level is different, don’t worry, this is due to the fact that combat levels are calculated differently in each version. There was a bit of uproar from many Runescape pures when Runescape officially upgraded to Runescape 2 because of how the combat system changed, but in hindsight the combat system is a lot fairer in Runescape 2 and offers a great deal more variety when it comes to pking.

Is Runescape Classic as Fun as Runescape 2?
The general concept of the game and how you play it is almost the same. You will still find yourself in a world full of magic, quests and creatures. Both versions also have the unforgettable friendly players who make the game such a success.

Runescape Classic Shutting Down
Players cannot play Classic if they are 1, not a member and 2, haven’t played Classic within the past 6 months. I can’t imagine that Runescape Classic will be support too far into the future as the number of classic players dwindles. If you have the option to play Classic then you should take a look into it and see for yourself how it is. Runescape 2 is recommended due to the many extra features though playing Runescape classic can be quite a novelty.

So those are the basics of Runescape Classic. Thank-you for spending the time to read this guide on Runescape Classic

Runescape Pictures
There is nothing sweeter than gaining that goal level you have been working at for the last 3 months, or whilst your out on pking session there pile some guy in full rune or dragon after a titanic battle, but these special moments in Runescape are rare and fleeting. The solution of course is taking a picture of your Runescape triumphs.

How Do You Take Runescape Pictures
It is really quite simple to take a picture in Runescape. All you have to do to take a picture is click the “Print Screen” button which is also sometimes represented as “Prt Sc” this should save a copy of your computer screen at that moment to your clipboard. Then all you need to do is go to your desired photo/image editor like MS Paint or Photoshop and then paste the image into a new image and then you should be able to save your Runescape picture into your desired format.

Editing Your Runescape Pics
As mentioned above to save you Runescape pics to your computer for later viewing you need to use an image editor. Now in addition to just saving your Runescape pics often you want to clean them up and edit them slightly so they can be displayed on mediums such as websites and forums or printed out. Now software such Photoshop are great for cropping and editing your Runescape pictures also photoshop gives you an assortment of file types you can save you Runescape images as, as well as a range of qualities that the images can be saved as. You can also apply a number of interesting effects to your images as well.

Fake Runescape Pictures
Runescape pictures are often a means by which to show others your achievements in Runescape but with image software like Photoshop it is quite easy to edit image to fake your stats or bank account images. Some of the more popular types of Runescape pictures to fake are Runescape bank pictures to show that they are exponentially richer than they actually are. People also often doctor their stats screen shots but it is fairly easy to find out if this has been faked because you can very easily look up other player’s stats in the Runescape hi scores.

Uploading and Sharing Your Runescape Screenshots
Once you have your Runescape screenshots all cropped and cleaned up you might like to share them with other people for them to comment. Often the most popular place to share you Runescape screenshots is on Runescape forums like Runescape Boards. To post your Runescape pictures on many Runescape forums you need to upload your image files to somewhere on the web first. Two of the more popular image hosting services for Runescape screenshots are imageshack and photobucket and they are very simple to use. However if you are a Runescape Boards member you can also contribute to the Runescape Boards Player Gallery as well which also allows others to leave comments about your images.

Runescape Banks Guide

Posted by: admin    in Runescape Discussion & Wiki, Runescape Help

Runescape Banks Guide
In the game of Runescape your inventory or backpack will only hold a maximum of 28 items, but as you progress through the game you a great deal more items than 18 so the Runescape bank system was introduced. Also as you progress through the game you will begin to obtain more valuable items as well as accumulate more money but consider when you die in Runescape you only keep your there most valuable items you’d be well advised to keep your valuable items in a Runescape bank unless you are actively using them. Exceptions to this rule are when you have the prayer Protect Items activated when you die which allows you to keep an addition item that you wouldn’t have kept otherwise when you die. The other exception is when you have a skull above you head which you obtain when you attack another player in the wilderness in which case you lose all the items you are carrying unless you have protect items activated.

Runescape Bank Locations
Runescape banks are found all around Runescape, but are most commonly found in the major cities of Runescape and are represented on the Runescape map as a dollar sign.

Using Runescape Banks
Using a Runescape bank is relatively easy all you have to do is right click on the banking booth and click ‘Use Bank Booth’. This will initiate a conversation with a banker and from there you will gain access to your bank. Right clicking and selecting Use-Quickly Bank Booth will give you quick access to your bank without needing to speak with the banker.

Paying Runescape members have hundreds of space in their banks in which to store items. Free version players have a much smaller amount of bank slots in which to store their Runescape items, though free version players don’t have nearly as large a range of items to store.

Runescape Bank Notes
In the vast majority of case when you are carrying items in your inventory each item you carry takes up its own slot in your inventory. However when you are storing items in your bank the same items, for example iron bars, would only take up a single slot but have a numerical number on the item to represent how many of that item you have. Now if you’d like to trade high quantities of items faster than 28 at a time then you are able to withdraw items in noted form which basically withdraws the item as a note and the note is tradable and then the owner of the noted items can redeem the items by depositing the note into their own Runescape bank account.

Runescape Bank Pins – Protecting Your Runescape Bank Account from Hackers
Runescape banks pins are a four digit code that the Runescape account owner sets to give their Runescape bank account added security in the event that someone manages to hack their Runescape account. Basically when you first try to access you Runescape bank account after logging in you need to enter your bank pin to verify that you are indeed the owner of the account.

How Do I Setup a Runescape Bank Account Pin?
To setup your Runescape bank pin you need to speak with a banker in a Runescape bank and select your bank settings to set your PIN. We you are creating a new bank pin you need to enter your new PIN twice to confirm that it is the pin you want. After you have set your pin there is a 7 day waiting period before the pin will take effect which essentially just put in a safe guard in case someone hacks your Runescape account and attempts to put a pin on your account.

Bank Pin Safeguards
Once you have set your pin and it has been confirmed when you log onto Runescape and attempt to access your bank account you will be asked for you pin and you will enter it via a clicking the numbers of your pin on a number pad. This number pad will rearrange itself after each click. The Runescape bank account pin system was setup up like this to prevent Runescape hackers gaining your secret bank pin via a key logging mechanism or a click tracker because the numbers are never in the same position twice.

Well that concludes this brief article on Runescape Banks and the aspects of them I hope you enjoyed it. I just wanted to acknowledge the Runescape Haven article - Runescape Banks - for some of the information I used to fill in the blanks in this article.

Free Runescape Membership For Your Account
There are a lot of free version Runescape players out there that would love free Runescape membership, but unfortunately there is no way to get Runescape membership for free via any sites and Jagex doesn’t give away free Runescape to members no matter how long you have been playing the game or how skilled you are. So technically there is no such thing as free Runescape membership, but that said most people searching for free membership on Runescape aren’t necessarily looking for it to be given to them for free, but there are ways to earn money online to pay for Runescape membership without having to spend your own pocket money, signing up for a credit card or asking your parents to pay for your membership on Runescape.

Pay For Runescape Membership with PayPal
The reality is if you are like the average Runescape player, then you don’t own a credit and therefore don’t have an easy way of paying for Runescape membership, which means you need of opt to get a free PayPal account. In my opinion it is the best way of paying for Runescape membership anyway because it pretty much removes the need for your parents to be involved in the payment process.

To fully verify you PayPal account you need to have a credit card but even without a credit card you can setup an account and pay and receive funds with your PayPal account, and if you are from one of a number select countries you can actually have money from your account paid directly into your bank account or sent to you via a check.

How to Get Runescape Membership For Free
So how can you about getting Runescape membership for free via these other means. Well my personally favorite is just doing odd jobs for people and getting paid via PayPal then collecting enough money to pay for a couple of month Runescape membership. Like for example I actually pay players to write guides and articles on certain topics of Runescape and if they are good enough quality I pay them like $15 an article. That’s two months Runescape membership all for a couple of hundreds of words on Runescape.

Only recently I paid a member of Runescape Boards (a Runescape forum I run) $40 for 3 articles. I asked him how long it took him to write the articles and he said it took a total of two hours and he said he found writing the articles interesting and enjoyable. So by spending two hours of his time writing some articles he managed to earn enough money to pay for six months worth of free Runescape membership. If you think you are capable of writing good quality guides like the ones you see on this site you are more than welcome to get in contact with me, Chris, at Runescape Boards.

Also I have recently seen a lot of people joining triond and having their articles published on gameolosophy where they offer writers the opportunity to write for them and they share the revenue earned from the advertising that they display next to your articles when they are read by visitors. Personally I think this isn’t going to be nearly as lucrative as just writing for someone who is willing to buy your guide at a fixed price plus the problem with this method is it takes quite awhile to accumulate the earnings from your articles and you need to write quite a number of articles and wait months and months before you will have earned enough to get your free membership on Runescape.

You can get paid for lots of things on the net other than writing articles you just have to go to forums where you can sell your services to other webmasters. You can make some really good money selling things like graphics and website designs if you are skilled in those sorts of things. You can even make good money by posting on other people’s forums and creating conversation. Doing these sort of simple jobs you can earn more than enough to pay for a few months of Runescape membership.

Other alternatives include getting involved in get paid to programs like CashCrate and Treasure Troopers where you can earn money for participating in offers, surveys, taking free trials, referring your friends and making purchases. The problem again with these sorts of programs is that it takes quite awhile to earn enough to cash out and there are a very limited number of things you can do to earn money if you don’t live in the United States and they take quite awhile to payout and they often don’t payout to PayPal which is annoying because it means you still can’t pay for Runescape membership without sending money into Jagex directly or using a credit card.

Once You Have Your Free Membership on Runescape
If you have never been a member of Runescape before then you will be pleasantly surprised by the array of options you will have. There is a good article on Runescape Haven about What to Do with Runescape Membership for once you have enough money to pay for Runescape membership.

Runescape Private Server Download

Posted by: admin    in Runescape News

Moparscape Servers - Runescape Private Server Download
Well, the first question on your mind should be what are Moparscape Servers? No, they aren’t the Mopar (motor parts) made by Chrysler or any other auto company. Moparscape Servers are Private Servers which are not run by Jagex, but by players of Runescape who have created their own ‘Runescape’ Servers using Runescape as their starting base when they download moparscape. Users of private servers like Moparscape have more flexibility and game play options than on the official Runescape servers; examples given would be that users can set their levels by typing in client side commands different to every server and get them up almost instantaneously depending on the codes. You also do not need an IP or to register to play and just click ‘Start Server’ will let you get in to Moparscape Servers straight away.

Positive Aspects of Moparscape Servers
Moparscape servers serve as a haven of freedom to players who like a walk on the wild side when playing games and don’t want to be hampered by rules of game play with the fact that Moparscape itself is illegal by breaking Jagex’s copyright of Runescape. Moparscape servers also provide an alternative to Runescape players who might have been temporarily or permanently banned from their Runescape accounts but who still want to play Runescape. Private Servers like Hybridscape (which are built into Moparscape) also draw players who want to have some fun with doing weird stuff like walking through walls in Runescape, and many a player has had fun taking screenshots of themselves in Moparscape Servers with items like full dragon, and every party hat in or not in existence.

Negative Aspects of the Downloaded Moparscape Servers
Moparscape Servers are illegal as I’ve said above, since creators breach copyright laws by stealing code from Runescape to make their own servers. Jagex has often closed down such private servers by threatening creators with lawsuits from Jagex, but ten private servers also pop up with the demise of any one under different names. Moparscape also has many copycats pretending to be it when the copycats are just key loggers or malware with a false name, causing players to infect their own computers with viruses in the name of fun. You are advised not to use your real Runescape username and password, or any password that you use for sensitive information such as banking, e-mailing and working.

For more information on Moparscape servers, head over to Runescape cheating websites like sythe, eliteneo, fagex or the official Moparscape.org address to play moparscape, download moparscape or find the moparscape scripts list. You can also search on Google for where Moparscape is available on other websites.

are there any other online games like Runescape?

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

Games like Runescape
Well firstly what is Runescape? Runescape fits into a gaming category called MMORPG which is an acronym for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. The most distinguishing feature about Runescape is that there aren’t many online games like it. Runescape is a browser based game that is played for free by the majority of its players. It was created back in 2001 and was a relatively new entrant on the scene of MMO games. It has a fantasy setting like most other online MMO games that is adventure based with loads of quests to complete and skills to develop.

So are there any other online games like Runescape?
Well there aren’t a lot of online games like Runescape, but there sure are a lot of similar online RPG games out there in the market. Many of these games can be purchased from your local game stores or downloaded form the internet. They include titles like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest II, Lineage II, Final Fantasy XI, Maple Story and Silkroad Online are all a couple of good options. Though you should keep in mind many of these games aren’t like Runescape because they either charge a monthly fee to be played or aren’t browser based, rather need to be installed on your computer to be played.

Why is it hard to find online games just like Runescape?
Well there are two main things about Runescape that really make it quite unique. One it is utterly free to play. Sure it isn’t the complete version but a large proportion of the game is free to play and gives you an eternity of great game play and enjoyment out of a free game. Secondly there aren’t any other online games like Runescape because it is completely browser based. Meaning that you don’t need to buy the game in a store or download some 700MB file and install it on your computer to play it. It is all played online with your browser with your character and your stats, items and gold all saved on the Runescape servers. Another thing that is hard to find in other online games that Runescape has is the sheer number of people that play it. It is one of the most popular online RPGs with over 100,000 simultaneous players playing the game at any one moment.

Most Popular Alternative Online Games
Whilst there aren’t any games exactly like Runescape a few of the popular alternatives were mentioned above, including World of Warcraft which is by far the most popular MMORPG online at the moment with over 8 million subscribers. So if you are after a popular alternative to Runescape, and you don’t mind paying a monthly fee, then World of Warcraft would be your best option. If you are after a free online game, Guild Wars is a good option if you are willing to buy the actual game first, meaning you pay for the game in a store but there is no on going monthly subscription payment. If you are looking for a completely free alternative you might like to try something like Maple Story, this is a very popular free alternative.

How to get your Free Runescape Account

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

Free Runescape Accounts - Runescape Success
One of the things that differentiates Runescape from most other MMO games is the sheer fact that it was built off its success as a free online game first, and still to this very day offers players a free Runescape account option, where there is no initial or ongoing payment involved with playing. These free Runescape accounts is where Jagex built this loyal following to their game and many believe it will sustain its foothold on the MMORPG market. Runescape were the first to introduce the two style play of both free account and paying account version of their game where a large proportion of the game is able to be played with a free account yet if players are willing, they are able to pay a small monthly fee of $5 to receive all the benefits of being a member.

Free Runescape Accounts versus Paying Members
So what are the perks of being a member rather than just having a free Runescape account? Well the biggest difference is the sheer amount of things to do as a member. There are more skills, loads more quest more ways to earn Runescape gold and many more lucrative item and gold drops from many of the creatures that are found in the member’s version of Runescape.

Offering Free Runescape Accounts for How Long?
Is the creation of the pay to play Runescape account option a sign of the inevitable future of Runescape going completely commercial? Whilst most MMO are based on some form of pay to play model Runescape seems to have successful marketed their subscription version such that it can both cater for both free account users and member accounts whilst still offer a relatively continual flow of updates and developments for paying customers. In addition to this Jagex has used this model of two style of play successful for three years now without ever hinting of a complete removal of the free version of the game and as such it would be expected that they will continue to offer free Runescape accounts for the foreseeable future.

How to get your Free Runescape Account
So if you are looking for you free Runescape account all you have to do is signup and register your account over at www.runescape.com the signup process only takes a few moments, and after completing Runescape’s tutorial island you will be well on your way to understand the complex game of Runescape.

Buying Unwanted Runescape Accounts - Accounts for Sale
In the last year or two there has been increasing demand for Runescape accounts and Runescape gold, and with anything in life, if there is demand and it can be suppled at a profit people will more than likely be willing to oblige by selling their product or service. In this case of Runescape accounts there seems to always be Runescape accounts for sale on eBay along with Runescape gold and items, but be warned not only are the majority of such auctions fraudulent attempts to scam buyers of their money they are also against Runescape usage policy which stipulates that there is to be no real world trading for Runescape accounts or in-game gold or items. So even if you were able to purchase an account Jagex itself would most likely be ban that account if it managed to work out that it was purchased illegitimately. So whilst many of the offers may seem tempting you are much better off just to create your own free Runescape account and play the game for fun and enjoyment whilst developing your character along the way.

How Do Get Footage for my Runescape Video?

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

Runescape Videos
Runescape videos are a way to show off your stats or anything you are particularly good at. You can video a game in castle wars, getting 99 woodcutting, or Runescape pking. If you are close to achieving a new level in fishing, then why not make a Runescape video of it to show your friends?

What Should I Make a Runescape Video of?
You can make a video about anything on Runescape, but it should really be something, which would interest the person watching it. The more exciting the video, the better feedback you will get from it! To you, fishing lobsters may be exhilarating, for others it may be like watching paint dry. Try and find the right balance of qualities. There should be enough excitement in the video to hook the viewer, so he/she doesn’t go elsewhere. Some good things to video on Runescape are listed below:

Runescape mini games, like castle wars, the duel arena and fight pits.
Runescape pking videos are the most popular Runescape videos.
Achievements, a way to remember your finest moment on Runescape.
Any funny glitches that you notice tend to make good funny Runescape videos.
Showing off your Runescape items or skills, but don’t be big headed about it.
Some things to avoid videoing are:

Random skills, like chopping trees for 10 minutes…
Wandering around Runescape.
Anything else that would be boring for people to watch.
How Do Get Footage for my Runescape Video?
Well there are other sites, which have free downloadable videoing utilities but the most popular are Hypercam and Camtasia. Hypercam is totally free, plus you can use it for as long as you like. It doesn’t run out after time. Make sure you read the tips so that Hypercam records perfectly, you may need to change some computer settings. Camtasia is free but you only have a certain amount of time until the free trial runs out.

Runescape Video Editing
To edit your Runescape video you can try using the popular program, windows moviemaker. You can open your recorded files there and have it as a time line, which can be changed, effects can be added, music can be added etc.

When you have edited your Runescape video you can watch it on Windows Movie Maker and see if it is a success, or if it looks bad. If it looks bad then the unwanted part can be removed. There is a big selection of special effects that you can add at will.

If you feel unhappy about your video’s length then you can reduce it easily, or even add some more clips to the timeline by copy and pasting. Music can be merged so that there are no gaps between songs.

Runescape videos should contain an opening section, where you introduce yourself and the name of the video.

Hosting Your Video
There are lots of sites on the Internet that will upload your videos, for others to view. You can choose whether you want your video to be downloaded, or accessible on the site. For example, a site like Youtube hosts videos for free and people don’t need to save/open the file. They can view the video there and then. Sites like Megaupload and Rapidshare host videos for free, but you have to open/save the video to your computer before watching.

The quality of the video uploading sites differs. If you download a video, then the quality will be much better than if you just play it on the site. Certain people may not like downloading videos, whereas others may prefer better quality so its your choice. It is advisable to give more than one link, so viewers can choose themselves whether they want to download or not.

Sites for uploading your video are:

YouTube - No download
PutFile - No download
RapidShare - Download
MegaUpload - Download
Risks of Downloading Videos
When downloading a video, make sure the file is a .WMV (windows movie video) so you know that it doesn’t contain a virus, which could harm your computer. DO NOT DOWNLOAD .EXE files. These are usually malicious files so do not download them, and certainly do not open them without scanning them first.
