If you played Runescape before the High Definition update, then I am sure you are very pleased they finally updated. Runescape use to look very bad compared to the other Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Games. Although they are still not the best graphic-wise, I am sure this new update will urge players to come back. Runescape is web-based, and as such it can not run excellent graphics as the other games you download can.

Runescape first introduced the High Definition on July 1, 2008 to pay to play members only. 13 days later, they released it to Free to play members. There are still some differences between free to play and pay to play, such as Pay to play members can go into full screen play. Jagex plans to implement this into free to play, but they must first find a way to advertise in full screen mode.

Jagex has also released many other updates along with the High Definition one. They have completely redone their banking system. Now it is fully equipped to help you organize your bank! There is a search bar, and you can even create up to eight tabs! Along with that, they have also brought Item Lending into the game. Now you can lend out many of your items. This includes dozens of Runescape’s best weapons and armor! They also redid the Tutorial Island, everything from the creation of your player to the explorations of Runescape.

Lumbridge is now a whole new place where you can make some quick coins. Here is a quote from the Official Runescape News;

“In return for completing some tasks, you can receive a modest, but prompt, payment from various people in our Lumbridge Moneymaking update. So, if you’re feeling poor, the people of Lumbridge will help you to recover your finances - in return for a little hard work.”

Finally, they have brought in the very first Achievement Diary for free players! Just head on over to Explorer Jack to start the Lumbridge and Draynor Achievement Diary! So as you can see, Jagex has been very busy.

They are always trying to improve your playing experience. Whether it be making better graphics or busting bugs, these guys are always on the job.

I like the idea of the Item Lending System. You can loan items for a certain amount of time, from1 to 24 hours, along with many other options. Some players have been lending their items out for money. This is how it works;

They put up the item in the lending box in this case; we will say a Rune Plate Body. Then they pick the time. This has been implemented into the Runescape Trading System, so the other person can then put up money. (Runescape trading limits apply.) Therefore, once the trade is complete, the person will have their Rune Plate Body for so many hours, and the other person will have the money. This was happening before Jagex decided to put it into trade, they decided on this as a safety measure. As players could have used this as a way to scam others. (I.E. Money first, then item… never give the item.) Runescape high definition is just one advancement we have seen in the last few months. Be on the watch out for more up and coming cool things coming to Runescape for your playing pleasure.

The Rune Scimitar is considered one of the best weapons in the Free to Play worlds. It is also one of the most common. It has great power and speed, and it is at a cheap price. You can get a Rune Scimitar for around 15,000 gold. It has dropped greatly since the release of the Great Exchange, it use to be around 30,000 gold. Players also can get a Rune Scimitar by killing Cockroach Soldiers in the Stronghold of Player Safety. They are semi-rare to obtain, but remember; these are level 83 and are very difficult to kill for mid-low level players. This urged players who could kill these monsters to sell their Rune Scimitars, which then caused the price to go lower and lower. If it keeps dropping, they will be worthless soon.

If you have a smithing skill of 90, you can make your own Rune Scimitar for 2 rune bars. Rune Scimitars give 150-smithing experience. Rune Scimitars give a +45-slash bonus for attack and a +1-defense bonus for slash, so if you are going to use the Rune Scimitar for battle, slashing is the way to go. You will also get a +44-strength bonus. The Rune Scimitar goes by a couple different names; Rune scimmy and R scimmy are the most common. Low Alchemy and Store Price is 10240 gold, High Alchemy is 15360. There is about a 5,000 gold difference, so if you can use High Alchemy, it is worth it. The Grand Exchange has the lowest price set to 15,080 and the highest at 16,093. These prices go up and down frequently and it could change tomorrow.

You will need 40 attack to be able to wield the Rune Scimitar. If you do not have 40 attack, I suggest going and fighting the Goblins at the Goblin Diplomacy quest. They are located North-West of Falador. They provide good experience points and they are fast to kill. This will allow you to get to level 40 attack very quickly. It is always better to kill monsters with lower experience points but faster deaths than ones with slower deaths and more experience points. Goblins are excellent because they do not have very high hits, and thus you can kill more without having to eat. If you are a high level, you may never have to eat. If you think goblins are too slow for experience points, try the Stronghold of Security or the Stronghold of Player Safety, they are my favorite places to train.

The Rune Scimitar can be a great weapon. I have heard of people hitting 28s with it. It depends a lot on the skills of the holder. The Rune Scimitar is my personal Free to Play favorite. It is cheap and it can really pack a punch. A lot better than those Wind Blasts which can cost a fortune in Death Runes. If you get a Rune Scimitar and combined it with the healing power of Tuna, you can kill an army of Greater Demons easily.

Therefore, whether you call it the Rune Scimitar, the R scimmy, Rune Scimmy, or even the slashing scimmy of runeness, it is still a great weapon. Runescape battle axe or scimitar

If you have ever talked to players in Runescape (and most likely, you have) then I am sure you have heard the term autoer, macro, and bot, so on so fourth. There are no hacks for Runescape, you cannot type in a code and get everything. Sadly, players found a way to cheat. They built macros that will play the game for you. Although there are a lot of them, most are easily detectable, and will get your account banned within the hour. I do not in any way support using macros; in fact, I am completely against them. Anyone who has to cheat for what they want deserve the ban that they will receive.

I am sure many of you are wondering why Jagex bans people for using these bots. Well, the most obvious reason is it is unfair to the rest of the players. Keep in mind however; this is not their only reason. Many of these so-called Runescape Auto Fighters are really just computer viruses called key loggers. These viruses will copy every key you type and send it to the creator of the program. This means that if you log into Runescape with a key logger, then your account is as good as gone. A keylogger can be very dangerous to more than just your account. As I said, it will log EVERY key that you type. So if you buy something with your credit card online, then the maker of the program will have your credit card information.

On January 19 2006, Jagex took a stand against these cheaters and showed them they meant business. They banned 15,000 accounts for using these macros. They also posted on their front page that they can easily detect these bots and it is only a matter of time until you will be banned. Jagex still bans thousands of accounts a month because of these programs. Jagex has built special bots of their own to seek and ban anyone that uses these macros. Although this is an excellent way of stopping botters, they cannot do it on their own. The creators of the bots have built better ones to slip past Jagex. It is only a matter of time till Jagex makes new programs to hunt those, but until then, reporting people you see using macros will greatly help out Jagex.

The Report Abuse button is located at the bottom of your screen. It is not hard to miss, as it is red and says Report Abuse on it. This is one red button that should be touched, Haha. Do not let people cheat, if they do not get caught, they will think it is ok, and it is NOT ok. How would you like to have worked for a week to get full rune, and then a guy got it by cheating? Would not like it a lot I bet.

The Runescape Auto Fighter will “automatically” fight monsters in Runescape. This allows you to leave the computer and do something else. If your account gets banned for cheating, there is no chance of getting it back. Jagex does NOT give you the proof of your cheating. Here is why:

“Our policy has always been that we do not tolerate any form of cheating. We do not ban accounts lightly. Significant evidence is always collected before any action is taken against a player. We will not reveal the evidence that we have collected, since most cheats only want to know the evidence so that they can avoid getting caught the next time.”

As you can see, Jagex does not give any wiggle room when it comes to cheating. Remember, cheaters never win. Mining coal yourself is a much better way. If you do it yourself, you cannot be banned! Then while the thousands of cheaters get banned, you will be making loads of gold.

A Runescape auto woodcutter is one of the many macros that have been built for the game of Runescape. A macro is a program that will take control of your account and play the game for you. This is against the rules of the game, and Jagex will easily find and ban anyone that uses these programs. An Auto Woodcutter is built to, as the name states, cut wood. This will allow you to leave your computer while your player will automatically chop wood, getting you experience points. The thing is, if you are not going to play the game, why play the game? That goes for anyone who cheats in any form.

Most of these programs are click the color programs. Therefore, if you were to pick a color of tree, then the program will search that color and then click it over and over. Almost never will you find an actual working program most of them contain keyloggers. Keyloggers are a form of computer virus. They will not harm the computer, but rather harm the person who uses the computer. They can steal your Runescape account, your credit card information, and anything else. They simply “log” every key you type and then send it to the creator. If you type in your Runescape username and password while having one of these viruses on your computer, then you can expect it to be gone. The same goes for your credit card information, if you buy something online after getting a keylogger on your computer, then you have just put yourself in a lot of danger. Imagine having a maxed out credit card just because you wanted to cheat in a game.

I cannot say it enough; cheating is just not the answer. It is much just simpler to go chop the tree yourself. It gives you no risk of having your account banned because, you are not! If you get tired, take a break. It is not hard to take a break. Then, after you have recharged, you can go back to the game and keep working.

Let’s say you found a working Runescape auto woodcutter and decided to try it, just once, for an hour. Therefore, you turn it on and go watch television. You come back an hour later and find out that oops, the account you have worked on for a year has just been banned. If you do not think that is possible, let me tell you this. Jagex have their own little bots. They actively search the game to find cheaters. When they do, they quickly alert Jagex, then Jagex will ban that account. Jagex has no tolerant for cheaters, they have proved that time and time again.

On January 19, 2006, Jagex decided to show the cheaters just how serious they were. Therefore, they banned over 15,000 Runescape accounts. They were all cheaters. If you still think, you can get away with it by making a brand new account, cheating, and then throwing it away, think again. In their news article, they wrote this:

“As well as having new systems to detect people cheating in this way, we are also using a new system to go through and ban other accounts used by these cheats, so they can’t just cheat on a ‘throwaway’ account they don’t care about, and expect their other accounts to be unaffected.”

Therefore, before you even try to get one of these macros, I would stop and consider the consequences. Jagex still bans thousands of accounts a month. They WILL find you if you cheat. There is no magic bubble to protect your account from a ban. They will not hesitate if they find you cheating. Remember this - I have played the game for many years, and I can tell you, it is much better to do it yourself

Have you ever wondered what merchanting was? Well, it is just buying low and selling high. A lot of people get Runescape merchanting confused with scamming. Of course, this is not the case. Scamming is cheating other players out of their money, items, and so on.

Here is the quote of rule 2: “You must not scam or deceive other players. And lying to other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit of fair play.”

Merchanting is just buying as low as you can get it, and selling as high as you can. With the new trade limits, it makes it harder to buy super low, and sell super high, because players now know exactly how much they are paying. This usually means less people willing to pay the max price. Due to the trade limits, merchanting has almost become a dead topic. Now all people recommend doing is hording. Hording is my term for stocking up in ore, wood, ect… to sell as bulk to players. Hording and Merchanting are two of the same whole.

You see, Merchants need bulk items as cheap as they can get them so that they can sell the bulk items for more of a price. I have heard that there are three types of sellers.

You have: Repeat Sellers - These ones will give you a continuous flow of the bulk. As you keep on buying, you form a trust between each other and thus can get better deals.
Desperate Sellers - These are good, as if they are desperate you can get a way better deal. Usually these types of sellers are over stocked and will take the loss. Then you have the ones who do not know the value of an item. Personally, I think that this is a lot like scamming. Just so you know, due to the trade limits, these types of sellers do not exist. This is one reason that the Merchants have died out. So in a way, merchanting use to be a lot like scamming. Now a days, it just buying low and selling high.

I do not think I ever tried merchanting; it seemed like a lot of work for not so much profit. Not to mention that you had to have money to start with, and back before I developed my own ways, I had no money. I started earning money by chopping wood and then I moved onto fishing. Hording is an excellent way to make money. For those few who are still merchanting, I greatly recommend you switch over to Hording. As more and more people switch over, less and less are going to accept less than the normal price. As the price rises, merchanting will become a dead theory.

The people who Hord have figured out that they are accepting too low for their items now, because of the trade limits. So instead of selling low, they are going to go to the bulk buyers and sell for a better price. As this happens, the market will slowly rise. As the market slowly rises, more and more people will begin to switch over to hording. As this happens, people are going to look for the lowest price available. That is where you come in.

Hord and save, watch the market go up. When you think that it is time, sell as low as you can. I guarantee that you are going to have people lined up just waiting to buy from you, and because you spent your time hording, you will have the items to supply them. Thus, you become rich

Runescape Gravestones Free Guilds

Posted by: admin    in Runescape Tips

Death is very common in the game of Runescape. If you die, you will respawn in Lumbridge most likely. If you do die, you will be able to keep 3 of your most valuable items. There are some exceptions of course. Runescape Gravestones allow you a chance to get those lost items back. You will have 2 to 5 minutes to get to the place you died before your gravestone rots away. Players can also repair and bless your gravestone so that it can stay there longer. This gives you an even greater chance of getting those lost items back to their rightful owner.

The value of an item is decided by the game, not market value. So make sure you check what items will be kept on death. It would be a shame to loose a party hat just because you died. Everyone starts out with a Memorial Plaque as his or her gravestone. This gives you 2 minutes to get back there. There are other Runescape Gravestones that you can get. Free to play members can get a Flag (50 gold), a Small Gravestone (500 gold), or an Ornate Gravestone (5,000 gold). All of them except the Ornate Gravestone allow you 2 minutes. The Ornate Gravestone will give you 3 minutes.

To get these gravestones you will have to have completed the Restless Ghost quest. After you have completed it, you can talk to Father Aereck in the Lumbridge Church to get one. If you are a member and have completed The Giant Dwarf quest, you can talk to Blasidar the Sculptor in Keldagrim to get access to even better gravestones. Blasidar’s house is east of the Consortium Palace. These gravestones are;

Font of Life - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Stele - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Symbol of Saradomin - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Symbol of Zamorak - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Symbol of Guthix - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Symbol of Bandos - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Symbol of Armadyl - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Ancient Symbol - 4 minutes 50,000 gold
Angel of Death - 5 minutes 500,000 gold

500,000 is a lot of money for a gravestone, isn’t it? If you happen to have one of these Pay to Play gravestones and die in a free to play world, it will still show up! This will make it a lot easier to find your expensive gravestone among those that are made of cheap wood. These gravestones are a great way of showing where you stand in Runescape. Whether you follow Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak, Bandos, Armadyl, or even the lesser known gods that were around before the time of Azzanadra, Runescape Gravestones are the perfect way to show loyalty to your god. If you do not follow a god, the Stele or the Font of Life is still very fashionable.

Alternatively, if you want to show off your true wealth, the Angel of Death Gravestone is the perfect one for you, though if you’re that rich, I do not see your dieing very often

Get Free Runescape Stat Editor

   Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

A Runescape Stat Editor is in fact just another “hack” that does not work, and will do you nothing but harm. In fact, most of these “cheats for Runescape” are nothing more than a virus that will steal your username and password. There are actual ways of cheating in Runescape, but the theory of a Stat Editor is almost impossible.

A Stat Editor goes into the root files of the game and changes the variables. That is why most games with these types of hacks are downloadable ones where the program can go into the computer and change them. Runescape is web-based which makes it a lot harder to break into. For some web-based games, people have created “injectors” which will inject their program into the game itself, thus changing the variables. This could actually work for Runescape, but it would take a load of work to get it to work. Jagex works daily to make sure this does not happen. If a Runescape Stat Editor did work, and it was released to the public, Jagex would quickly fix their game and ban every account that was caught using it.

A Stat Editor is able to change more than just your skills, it can change any sort of number that has to do with the game. This includes money, how many of each item, and sometimes even your health! Yes, a Runescape Stat Editor is great in theory, but if one got out and everyone used it, the game would not be worth playing. I have said this time and time again, cheats make the game boring. What would you do if Jagex allowed macros? Let’s say they did, and we all used them.

The price of everything would be dirt-cheap, it would take forever to level because everyone would be chopping the same trees, fishing in the same spots, and mining the same rocks! Almost everyone would be millionaires, with multiple sets of everything. Then, after they have everything, they could auto their combat levels. After all their skills are 99, what would they do then? Brag about having everything to someone else that has everything? Yeah, it would be a very boring world if we all cheated. Jagex understands this, and as such, they make sure it does not happen.

There are actually some sites that offer a Runescape Stat Changer at a price. This price is around $20.00 USD, some are even MORE than that! Of course, I have never paid that to find out if it is fake or not, because I KNOW it is. If there were a Runescape Stat Editor, Jagex would be quick to put up a shield around their game to counter the hack. If you are going to spend money on Runescape, spend it on a membership. That $20.00 USD you blew on a fake hack could have gone to 4 months of membership. Even if the hack did work, Jagex would be on stand-by to ban anyone who used it.

There have also been many times where I have read things like “Give me your username and password and I will use the program on your account.” or “Hey, I promise this is 100% real, just send me your username and password, it will not work if you are under level 40!” and even “If your account is over the level of 50, and you send to this email your username, password, and the stats you want to level 99, then it will change your stats!” Of course, none of these are real and all of them are scams. Trust me, do it yourself and it will be so much more rewarding. Yes, that’s right. There was a game before the Runescape that you now know. It did not have nearly as good graphics as Runescape does now. In fact, they looked like pieces of paper.

Originally, in Runescape Classic when you were starting out, you got to pick from five major classes. Each class got their own specialty when starting out. These classes were

Ranger - Started with a shortbow and arrows.
Adventurer - Started with a Bronze Axe, Tinderbox, and one piece of Cooked Meat.
Miner - Started with a pickaxe, which at that time were the only ones available.
Warrior - Started with a Bronze Short Sword and a Wooden Shield
Necromancer - Started with a Wizard Hat and a regular Staff.

This feature was taken out early July 2002.

They also allowed at one point to be able to duel anywhere in the world. You could just walk up to someone, right click, and click duel. Players liked this idea for more than one reason. For one, you could get to Lumbridge fast because as long as you didn’t stake anything, you wouldn’t loose any items. They liked this feature because if they were training and a person walked up, they could duel over the training spot. This saved players a lot of time because they didn’t have to switch worlds to find a less crowded area. They removed this feature because players could run away and the duel would not end, and players could bank the staked items. So, to fix this problem, Jagex built the Dueling Arena.

Player Killing in Runescape Classic was a whole different world. In the beginning, you could be killed everywhere except Lumbridge, or if you designated yourself as NPK which stands for Non-Player Killers. Along with that, There was no running in Runescape Classic, so catching your pray was much easier. In addition, you could not eat during a battle, and you could not run until 3 turns of attacks happened. So more than often, did PKers catch unsuspecting players in the old days?

Runescape Classic had their own type of notes as well. Instead of having noted items, they had Certificates. Also known as certs. These certs equaled five of every item. Therefore, instead of one note per one item, they had one cert per five items. The Banks were very hard to use, as only one player could talk to one NPC at a time. So people often sat in a bank for long periods of time just waiting to be able to even get into their bank. After they finally got in, there was a withdraw and deposit limit! So trading large amounts of items took even longer.

Here are some random facts about Runescape Classic:

When a person tried to say something offensive, the censors would change it to say Cabbage.

There was a skill called Tailoring that was near-useless and very hard to gain experience points in, they later removed it and made it an add-on to Crafting.

Influence was basically like Quest Points. The only way to get it was to complete quests. A person with high Influence level could sell their silk to the silk trader for more coins than the normal amount.

Prayer was split into 2 different categories, Good Prayer and Evil Prayer.

I played Runescape Classic one time, but not very long. After Runescape 2 came out, Runescape Classic became out of date. I believe there are still some players on Runescape Classic. All of the Free to Play members of Runescape Classic had to either upgrade to Pay to Play, or loose their accounts. This of course made a lot of players angry; because they had played the game for a long time and did not find it right to be forced into paying

A lot of players in Runescape like to make “pures”. If you are not sure what a pure is, it is an account that is built for one thing. Such as if, you have a mining pure, it would have a high mining skill, and all its other skills left alone. People can make combat pures that will be pure attack or pure strength, which can be very effective in combat. I myself have not experimented with combat pures, but I do know that they work. So, because I have not actually built a combat pure before, I decided to research and see how to make a combat pure.

First, (starting on the Tutorial) get your strength to three and leave the rest of the skills the same. After you complete the Tutorial, head over to some chickens. Fight these until you are level 15. (You might want to collect the feathers to sell at a later date, to help pay for weapons.) Some suggest getting five attacks for steel weapons, but that’s optional.

They say that as long as your attack is 10-15 levels below your strength, you will still be in the green. Now, go to Al Kharid and buy a scimitar, then move out to the cows. Train on these to level 20-25. You will want to keep the hides to sell. Then, buy the next scimitar.

Level 12 minotaurs and level 14 wolves are in the Stronghold of Security, these can be used to get from 25 to 35. You can do this any way, the point of a pure is to have the main skill as high as it can be, but you only level the other ones if it is absolutely necessary. In the combat pures it seams to me that, especially with strength, you are going to need a little attack. This is so you are able to wield better weapons. Therefore, I believe that getting 40 attack for free to play members and 60 for pay to play members would just be logical, as you will want to be able to wield good weapons. (Imagine having to wield Iron at 99 strength!)

So, as I know, most of you will already have a way of training, I am sure that you can use it on the idea of a pure as well. A lot of people will make non-combat pures to make money. Pure woodcutters, fishers, miners, these can all make great money in the long run. It just takes hard work.

It is not against the rules to have multiple accounts, but it is against the rules to log in on them at the same time. A lot of times, pures are built to make money. Whether by PKing or hard work - that is why they are made. Although it is illegal to have these multiple accounts interact, people find ways to get that money to their main account. Yes, there are ways to do this, but I will not be telling you how, as I do not encourage rule breaking

Have you have ever heard the term “Runescape Macros”? How about, “Runescape Bots”? They have many names, but they are all the same. Although I know exactly what a macro is in Runescape, I thought I would do some research and see what a macro was outside of Runescape.

Macroing in Runescape:
Basically, when you use a Runescape bot, you are using a program that will play the game for you. There are many different types of these, such as; Mining Bots, Woodcutting Bots, Attacking Bots, but they all do the same thing, get levels. This is against the rules of Runescape. Jagex bans thousands of accounts a month due to these cheats. I cannot tell people enough, cheating is NOT the answer. If people would just do the work themselves, then there would be no problem.

Macroing outside of Runescape:
As I promised, I researched and this is what I found; “A macro is a way to automate a task that you perform repeatedly or on a regular basis. It is a series of commands and actions that can be stored and run whenever you need to perform the task. You can record or build a macro, and then play the macro to automatically repeat the series of commands or actions.”

Therefore, the reason we have macros for Runescape is… The game is built to where you have to do repetitive actions to gain levels. Scripter’s realized this, and decided that it sounded like a job for a macro. Now you have many of these macros out there.

Risks of using a Macro in Runescape:
Using a Macro in Runescape is just asking for a ban. These programs are EASILY detectable, and when you are caught using one, Jagex will show no mercy. They feel strongly that cheating is bad, and so do I. It is just so much easier to mine the ore yourself. Then, you do not have the risk of loosing your account. That should be enough of a reason in itself. Its not? Well, then let me give you some MORE reasons;

Let’s say that everyone in Runescape just up and decided to use these cheats. Let’s also say that Jagex did not care what so ever and let it happen. In about a month, everyone would have level 99 everything. Prices would drop dramatically because there would be so much of a surplus. Such as, one player would own 100M of Dragon Longswords. Tell me, would the game be fun anymore? For the first few days maybe? After that, it would get boring. There would be no point in using your skills because, everyone else would have it as well. What’s the point of dueling, everyone is the same!

So now, you understand why Jagex does not allow these macros. In fact, on January, 19, 2006 Jagex banned over 15,000 Runescape accounts due to this. They also have a system that detects any OTHER accounts used by the player. This prevents them from making a throwaway account that they do not care about.
